The Carers Centre was established in 1996 to support Carers across the region. From humble beginnings with only one staff member, we now have over 20 in our team, supporting Adult Carers, Young Carers and Young Adult Carers.
Funded primarily from Dumfries & Galloway Council and NHS Dumfries and Galloway via the Integrated Joint Board we are the region’s only dedicated generic Carers organisation. Part of a national network of Carers services we are also involved in the planning and implementing of local services for Carers.
A world where the role and contribution of unpaid Carers is recognised and they have access to the quality support and services they need to live their own lives.
Our Values
Inclusion – treating people as individuals equally and respectfully by actively ensuring our services are accessible.

"
Unpaid Carers are now, and will remain, fundamental to building strong families and partnerships and resilient and cohesive communities.
We have a shared responsibility to support Carers; to raise the profile and value of care; and to work in partnership with everyone who has a responsibility to Carers to ensure that Carers receive the support they rightly deserve.
