Our Young Carers Educational Service offers all schools across Dumfries and Galloway information, support and advice on identifying Young Carers and supporting them in education and their lives.
We aim to raise awareness of the Young Carers Statement and want to work in partnership with schools to ensure Young Carers feel valued, respected and understood. Allowing education professionals to feel confident in listening to Young Carers and understanding the impact of their caring role.
Our Young Carers Educational Worker can provide staff information sessions, teacher training and targeted year group assemblies. We have a range of teaching resources and awareness raising materials that can be provided.

Schools involved with our education work can access our Education Resource Library using the password sent to your school. There are resources for both Primary and Secondary teachers to raise awareness of Young Carers in the classroom.
